Welcome to the 2017 Cold Waters Seafood Festival in Lake Charlotte, East Shore, Nova Scotia!
The cold clear waters of the Eastern Shore yield some of the best seafood in the province. Here’s a chance to sample an abundance of locally harvested seafood at its freshest: clams, oysters, mussels, lobsters and fresh and smoked fish along with locally crafted specialties such as chowder, fish cakes and beans, and lobster rolls. Taste traditional heritage foods such as Solomon Gundy and Boiled Herring and Potatoes.
Family activities and skills demonstrations such as paint-your-own-buoy, dory rides and learn to row, net knitting, and a fun photo booth! Learn to row in the same dory that Eastern Shore residents Karl Richardson and Frank Stevens used to row around Nova Scotia.
Festival runs from 11am to 5pm.
All samples come in the form of “Tastes” which are $5 each. Purchase as many as you like and use them for any of the “tastes” available from local vendors. All “tastes” will be $5, with the exception of steamed whole lobster, which will be determined by the market price at the time. All local vendors will be set-up on the Heritage Village grounds, with outdoor tables on the Village common (unless there is rain, in which case we will be set up in the Clam Factory and Cookhouse).
Vendors (subject to change):
Seafood Chowder – The Henley House in Sheet Harbour
