Halifax Pride Festival

The annual Halifax Pride Festival showcases one of the Halifax Regional Municipality’s (HRM) largest and most colourful parades, a main stage that highlights local and out-of-town LGBTQ+ performers, a community fair where local artisans, social groups and businesses share their products and services with over 120,000 festival-goers.

Halifax Pride’s Queer Acts Theatre Festival that presents a week-long program featuring quality LGBTQ+ theatre and performances.

July 23rd, Halifax Pride Day is our main day of events and festivities. The Pride Parade takes place, starting at 1pm and leads thousands of people through the main streets of downtown Halifax to the Garrison Grounds where they are greeted by a main stage of professional entertainment, a community fair of local artisans and vendors.  The newly developed and highly successful children’s area is lots of fun for the young ones. There is a refreshment area to enjoy a cool beverage and a good meal and an afternoon/evening of camaraderie and friendship. Halifax Pride Day wraps up with a night time dance party that brings a few thousand more people to the Garrison Grounds.
