2016 Antigonish Highland Games in Annapolis Valley, Nova ScotiaThe 2016 Antigonish Highland Games to take place the week of July 3 to July 10, 2016.

Please Note: The main weekend for the Highland Games will be July 8, 9 & 10, 2016 (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) featuring competitions in Piping, Drumming, Pipe Bands, Highland Dancing, Ancient Scottish Heavy Events and Track and Field along with Concerts, Ceilidhs, Clan Gatherings and much more.

The Antigonish Highland Games has built a worldwide reputation based on authenticity, attention to detail, and hospitality. The 153rd Games will be no exception. The week long schedule will be jam packed with new and enhanced competitions featuring athletes, pipers, drummers, and highland dancers from across the country and around the world. There will also be the blend of Scottish flavoured ceilidhs, clan activities, and concerts.

The Antigonish Highland Games offers a wide range of competitions for people of all ages as both a competitor and/or a spectator.  Some of the events include: 5 Mile Road Race, Highland Dance, Cape George Bike Race, Elite Mile, Farmer’s Walk, Piping and Drumming, Scottish Heavy Events and Track and Field.

The Antigonish Highland Games is more than just a bunch of competitions. The week long schedule is jam packed with entertainment! There is a variety of choices for people of all ages; everything from the Grand Street Parade on Saturday morning to evenings under the Ceilidh tent.

Following the mandate of the Antigonish Highland Society, a large portion of the Antigonish Highland Games schedule is focused on promoting the language, customs, and music of the highlands. Every year the Games acts as a gathering for many clans and Gaelic activities which take place all over Antigonish.  Some of the activities available will be: Clan Day, Tir Nan Og, Pipers for Hire, Piping and Drumming School, The Highland Games Book and Town Point Ecumenical Service.
